Ayurveda For Autumn

As we take the final quarter turn of the year, there is a sense of returning to work or school with new projects captivating our attention. For many, Autumn conjures excitement with a new term ahead, new beginnings, a fresh start, and a sense of lightness.

In climates that experience seasons, Ayurveda defines them according to their elemental characteristics; Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Ether. Autumn is a season of transition, evident with an increase of dry, rough, cooling and MOVING qualities of our external (and internal) environment, caused by a rise in the Air and Ether elements.

These changes can cause us to feel untethered or flighty, with difficulty sleeping and frenetic thoughts brought on by a busier mind. It can aggravate digestion, causing a change in appetite or bloating; you may also find that your skin is drier, and your hair and nails feel more brittle.

Utilising the tools and teachings of Ayurveda, we can observe seasonal fluctuations from a qualitative perspective and reestablish health and harmony through our lifestyle and daily routine. In this two-hour workshop, I will share some empowering tools and tips to help you find your anchor and navigate Autumn gracefully.
