Join Garwyn and I for a unique sound journey, interweaving sound with nature's poetry, for a vibrant Solstice celebration. Our June Full Moon arrives on the 22nd, two days after the fullest light of summer. During this time of 'peak' solar and lunar energies, immense potential is available to us. Immerse yourself in the energies of summer as we embrace the magic of Mugwort, embarking on a captivating journey with this exquisite wild plant.
Our evening will begin with a traditional tea ceremony, receiving the medicine of Mugwort. Her petiolate, narrow leaves are a deep green yet soft and silvery underneath, evocative of the Moon and her ability to support women's cycles, health and hormones. As the Moon moves tides, Mugwort is linked with the water element increasing blood flow to our abdominal organs, encouraging the ebb and flow of menstruation, digestion and the rise of subconscious emotions. Mugwort's unique bitterness also relaxes the nerves, calms fires of inflammation, moves energy and eases anxiety to bring us into a state of presence and receptivity.
Her botanical name is Artemisia Vulgaris - honouring the Greek Goddess Artemis, the original "wild woman" who cannot be tamed; the goddess of the Moon, huntress and fierce defender of nature! Like her namesake, Mugwort's messages are straight and true, bringing forth buried experiences, patterns and stories we need to see, process and heal. A potent oneirogen, she enhances dreaming, stirring the subconscious to guide you in an elucidating dreamscape - revealing her secrets to those ready to receive them. Greet her without expectation, and allow her to show you the world within yourself.
Once we have received her medicine we will lay and listen, bathed in sounds Interwoven - to find crystalline clarity and insight. We will guide you through a short meditation to lead you in and out of the sound, and there will be the opportunity to share afterwards, should you wish.
